“Hazel Thompson and her Excelerator Golf Tours has done a great job with organising this group and all the golf and events. It was a great trip. Thank you for all you did to make it special.”
L Potter 2023 Florida
“Thank you, Hazel, for organising an unforgettable 2023 castle and links tour. It was such an honour to see your beautiful country and play on some of the world’s most highly rated and exclusive golf courses, in absolute luxury. Such a high level of thought and organisation has gone into making this tour such a fantastic experience. The inclusions were all first-class and exceeded expectations: the various hotels and accommodations were all modern and luxurious, the coaches were very comfortable with wifi and everyone had their own space, the restaurants were all high-quality, and there was a perfect balance of golf and experiencing the Irish culture. Many of the experiences were very unique and cannot be replicated by other mainstream tours.
The selection of golf courses was superb, especially being able to play the same courses as recent and upcoming major professional tournament, such as Portstewart (2017 Irish Open), Royal Portrush (2019 & 2025 Open) and Adare Manor (2027 Ryder Cup)........ Definitely one of the best travel experiences I have ever had.”

The Championship Course, founded in 1892, was originally designed by Old Tom Morris and further enhanced by the world-renowned course architect, Dr Alister MacKenzie, in 1926. It was returned to its natural beauty, in more recent times, by our current course Architect, Dr Martin Hawtree. It is a true links with many towering dunes, overlooking Liscannor Bay.
Castle Course which is a true links with high quality greens and testing and interesting holes. Coupled with our short game academy and our new state of the art indoor teaching facility, it provides golfers with multiple opportunities to hone their skills.

Whatever your choice, every hole, every hazard and every shot is defined by nature’s infinite presence.
"I may have designed the first nine, but surely God designed the back nine"
Arnold Palmer
Situated on the rugged Atlantic coast of Ireland's south west, the links features towering dunes, undulating fairways, punishing rough and cliff top tees and greens.
This stunning setting represents a true paradise for those willing to challenge what is widely acclaimed as one of the finest links courses in the world.
Waterville is rated among the top five courses in Ireland and in the top 20 links courses in the world. The course embarked on a new chapter of its fabled history when noted international golf architect Tom Fazio was commissioned to update the memorable Eddie Hackett masterpiece. Fazio has assisted many of the worlds leading clubs including Winged Foot, Pine Valley and Augusta National. “Everything about Waterville is truly spectacular, said Fazio”. “The setting is one of the best I have seen for golf”.

“One of the best kept secrets in Irish Golf”
Ronan Rafferty – Sky Sports and European Golfer of the Year, 1989
“I love this place…water on 3 sides, it’s a blast. Don’t drive by this gem”
Tom Coyne – Author, Senior writer The Golfers Journal
Old Head Golf Links is built on a 220-acre diamond of land jutting out over two miles into the Atlantic Ocean. The promontory is almost an island with numerous caves running beneath your feet as you play the course. The links and practice area occupy 180 acres and the remaining 40 acres of unspoilt cliff frame the course. It is a piece of golf real estate like no other, that causes many a golfer and visitor to pinch themselves as they drive through the ancient gateway with the crashing waves of the Atlantic Ocean some 300 feet below.
